Another day and another Repsol Honda Team one-two in the qualifying round of the TrialGP World Championship held this weekend in Great Britain. Toni Bou set the fastest time with teammate Jaime Busto second quickest.

In a repeat of the recent French TrialGP event, Toni Bou and Jaime Busto were the fastest and rode an error-free qualifying section ahead of tomorrow’s trial in Tong, England – the fifth round of the World Championship. Busto laid down the gauntlet with a swift time, but Bou – the last one to start – whittled yet more time off the stopwatch to mark the day’s fastest time. Takahisa Fujinami came close to his objective, but with a cluster of riders clocking up very similar times, the Japanese stalwart had to settle for ninth best qualifying time.

The main event will feature fifteen sections over two laps. The course is the shortest in the World Championship at less then three kilometres. Toni Bou will be the last rider to take the start at 10:10 hrs and the trial is scheduled to finish at 15:30.

QUALIFICATION: 1st TIME: 31.06

It is very important to start out from behind. The 'pole' went well, but not as I wanted, because in the morning training session I had been even faster. In the second step I had a minor scare and I didn’t go down very well, but I'm happy for this result all the same as it allows us to start from behind. It will be an easy trial, so we will have to be very focused and try to fight hard without making any mistakes.

Takahisa Fujinami

QUALIFICATION: 9th TIME: 34.80

The result is not very good. The qualification was very tight and five riders have finished within the same second. Tomorrow I will have to ride my own race, without any pressure and try and get a result. I like these sections and I have trained hard for it, so I hope to be comfortable here.

Jaime Busto

QUALIFICATION: 2nd TIME: 32.24

Toni was incredibly fast. I started out before and I think I didn’t do badly, although I had a little slip at one point, which I was able to sort out quite well. It's good to start behind experienced riders like Dabill and Raga, and I hope I can be up there with them. The goal is to finish with a result like in the last two trials, so I will have to fight for it in the sections which I like quite a bit.
