The TrialGP world championship leaps the Atlantic Ocean this weekend with a torrid Arizona, USA awaiting Toni Bou, who edges ever closer to an eleventh world title.

The sixth round of the TrialGP will be held this weekend in Hualapai Mountain Park, United States, some twenty kilometres outside Kingman at an altitude of 1800 metres. This is the second of the two transoceanic trials this year with Toni Bou clear overall leader in the event.

With five out of six possible wins, Repsol Honda Team’s Toni Bou will tackle the double-date event (trials on Saturday and Sunday) well and truly fired up in the knowledge that a win could make an eleventh title a near formality. The current champ already sports an 18-point advantage over second place Adam Raga.

Fellow Repsol Honda Team riders Takahisa Fujinami and Jaime Busto will be well-motivated too, holding third and fourth places respectively, both eager to prove what they have to offer as well as pursuing the best possible team championship result.

In the constructor’s championship, Montesa dominates the leader board with 222 points, 51 points clear of second place TRS.

After the trial in England we have been training a lot in altitude in preparation for this next round of the world championship. It will be an important weekend as we will be able to say that a large part of winning the championship is going to be played out here. We want to face the two final rounds with as much peace of mind as possible. As always, concentration will be essential to achieve a good result.

Takahisa Fujinami

STANDINGS: 3rd 78 points

I’ve always found myself at ease in the United States and it is the second country where I’ve won most times. This year I think I'm very fit and I would like to get back onto the podium, as the sensations that I had in England were very good. That’s why I have trained so hard, because the trial will be in altitude and the preparation could be decisive to finish in good position.

Jaime Busto

STANDINGS: 4th 71 points

The only time I competed in the United States I finished sixth as my best result, so I would like to improve on this position this time around, as I believe that this year I’m in better shape, more prepared and with more experience. I can’t wait to get back on the podium and I would love to be able to do it in this race.
