Toni Bou leads the standings with 86 points, followed by teammate Gabriel Marcelli in second.
After a four-month break due to the outdoor series, the X-Trial World Championship returns in Andorra. The Repsol Honda Team riders are at the top of the overall standings: Toni Bou is the current leader after four consecutive victories, and his teammate Gabriel Marcelli is second with 55 points.
Bou has an advantage of 86 points, and the Montesa Cota 4RT rider will have the first opportunity to clinch the title this weekend. To do so, he must win the race on Saturday. So far this season he has managed to finish first in every round contested.
Marcelli earned second place in the TrialGP World Championship just a few weeks ago. Currently, the Repsol Honda Team rider is second in the standings for the indoor series with 55 points. This season he has 4 podiums in the races held to date.
The race at the Poliesportiu d’Andorra will start at 6:00 p.m.
Toni Bou
“Andorra is a very special event for us, and after the results in the TrialGP World Championship I am really looking forward to it. As I always say, having the opportunity to win a title is always different. Your feelings change, so the race in Andorra will be a very special weekend. We are going to try to give 100% and do things well. We have had a fantastic year, expectations are high, as always, so we will try to do our best and feel comfortable in order to achieve a good result.”
Gabriel Marcelli
“I'm looking forward to the event in Andorra, especially after finishing second in the outdoor series. I think that indoor events are a bit easier for me, so I'm looking forward to it and eager to get started. Last year I took third place in the X-Trial in Andorra, so this year I hope to do even better. The goal for this weekend will be to go for my first win, since last season we were very close to achieving it. It won't be an easy race, so we'll fight to get the best result.”
Takahisa Fujinami
“We're returning to the X-Trial World Championship with an event that will be very important for Toni, since it will be at his home, in Andorra. In addition, it will be his first opportunity to win the title, so he must stay focused and go for the win. As for Gabri, after finishing second overall in the outdoor series, he's coming into the Andorran event very strong. His goal, as at every race, is to get his first win.”
