This coming Friday, January 19 sees the third round of the X-Trial World Championship arrive at the Zénith in Toulouse, France. Toni Bou looks to continue the season’s winning spell with another triumph.
The Zénith in Toulouse this weekend plays host to one of the most prestigious indoor events in recent years as round three of the FIM X-Trial World Championship calendar rolls into town. Repsol Honda Team will be represented by both their team riders: Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami.
Toni Bou hits town as the undisputed leader after winning the first two events, both of which were disputed on French soil: Vendée in December, and Montpellier last weekend. With 40 points accrued thanks to the two previous victories, Bou now sports a thirteen-point advantage over second-placed rival Adam Raga and hopes to continue the winning streak with a further win in Toulouse.
Bou’s Repsol Honda Team companion, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, will be present at the Zénith seeking to improve on last Saturday’s result in Montpellier. The veteran’s aim will be to secure, at very least, a good semi-final qualification.
The event will begin at 20:30 with the first qualification round, with all nine riders on the track. The semi-finals are scheduled to start at 22:15, consisting of two groups of three riders. Only the top rider from each group will make the cut for the final which is due to start at 23:08 hours.

The team is satisfied to be at the head of the championship table, but we have it very clear that we need to continue fighting to improve in every aspect possible. Last Saturday I had some problems, but I am confident that with the preparation that I have done these days, I shouldn’t have to suffer as much to achieve the goal.
Takahisa Fujinami
Last weekend I was very unlucky to have missed out on qualifying by just one single point. I hope that this time I can rectify things and qualify for the second phase, although I know it will be very difficult because there is very little difference between the adversaries who all want a place in the semi-final.
