The Repsol Honda Trial Team riders come into the event off a great performance at the opening round in Barcelona.

X-Trial World Championship action returns with the second round of the season in Chalon-Sur-Saône, France, on Friday. The French town will host the series with Toni Bou leading the way, after taking the victory at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona a month ago. His teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, is currently third after his podium at the season opener.

After sweeping the first event of the season at the Palau Sant Jordi, Bou is ready for what will be the second time that the Repsol Honda Team rider has competed in Chalon-Sur-Saône. In 2022 he achieved victory there, and his goal this weekend will be to repeat that result.

Marcelli started off the season on the podium in Barcelona. The young Spaniard is still looking for his first win in indoor competition and will try to climb positions in the overall standings as well.

The action will begin on Friday at 8:00p.m. at Le Colisée, which hosts a round of the X-Trial World Championship for the second time.

Toni Bou

Championship:1ST

“I head to Chalon with much more motivation after the good feeling we had in Barcelona. My rivals have started out pushing very hard this season, and the key to fighting for victory will be to make the difference on the difficult areas to reach the final. Our objective for the second event of the year is to win, so we must be focused, try to do our best and follow the same strategy as up to now.”

Gabriel Marcelli

Championship: 3RD

“I arrive very motivated for Chalon. I think that the victory in the Spanish Championship has given me an extra boost, and I have been able to show that I am a rider to be taken into account in the fight for victories. The result in Barcelona was not bad, because starting with a podium is positive, but I couldn't demonstrate my true level, because I wasn't quite fully comfortable. I have done my homework for this one and we will give everything to achieve our goal, which is the victory.”

Takahisa Fujinami

Team Manager

“After the results of the first race and the work the team did during the month-long break we have had, we are ready to give our all in France. Toni showed in Barcelona that he continues to be at the highest level and Gabri, after the great results he had in the Spanish Championship, has made it clear that he is very strong for the second round of the X-Trial World Championship. Our objective, as always, will be to fight for first and second position.”
