Bou leads the World Championship standings, while Marcelli holds third place.
This weekend, the TrialGP World Championship arrives in Corsica for the fourth round of the 2025 calendar, marking the halfway point of the 2025 season with Sunday’s race. Although the island has already hosted the series in L’Île-Rousse, it will be the first time an event has taken place in Calvi.
Toni Bou, the current leader of the World Championship with 241 points, arrives in Corsica off the back of solid performances in the previous rounds in Portugal and Japan, with four consecutive victories. The Repsol Honda rider will look to maintain his consistency and extend his advantage, on terrain that will test his experience and adaptability.
For Gabriel Marcelli, this will be his first participation in the top class on the island of Corsica. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider had third and second places at the TrialGP round in Japan, and impressive showings so far on the 2025 season. He has the chance to climb the standings in the four races held over the weekend.
With the championship reaching its halfway point this Sunday, the event gets underway on Friday, when technical and administrative scrutineering, as well as site visits and training, will take place. The action begins on Saturday with the first rider starting at 9:00 a.m., and the same schedule will be repeated on Sunday.
Toni Bou
“We're coming into this one with a lot of motivation after Japan. Calvi will be a new venue for everyone, as we've never raced there, but the goal remains the same: to score as many points as possible over the weekend. We're in good shape, although we can't let our guard down, as there's still a long way to go this season. Consistency will be key, and nothing is decided yet. We're going to focus on giving it our best at this new event.”
Gabriel Marcelli
“It will be my first time competing in Corsica, and with Calvi as a new venue, we're all starting from scratch. It's a very different terrain to Japan, and I think it can suit my riding style. The races at Motegi were tough due to the rain, but we still achieved good results. The goal now is to take another step forward and fight for victory in every race this weekend. We've worked hard to arrive in the best condition, so we'll try to build on the results we achieved last time out.”
Takahisa Fujinami
“We're happy with how the season is going so far. Calvi is a new challenge for the team and our riders, with unfamiliar terrain that will require maximum concentration. Toni is showing great consistency, and his experience will be key in this new setting. As for Gabri, he got back to good results in the four races in Japan, and he heads into this fourth round of the season confident he can fight for the top positions, demonstrating his strong performance level.”
