Toni Bou leads the standings with 44 points, followed by teammate Gabriel Marcelli.

With barely a week between rounds, the Repsol Honda Trial Team riders move on to the third event of the X-Trial World Championship in Nice, France. Toni Bou is the series leader with a perfect haul from the two events held so far. Teammate Gabriel Marcelli is second with 27 points.

After achieving two consecutive victories, Bou has a 17-point advantage over Marcelli in second. He has competed three times in Nice, winning on every occasion, so the objective this weekend will be to further extend his lead in the series.

This will be the first time for Marcelli riding at the French town. He is second overall after his great performance less than a week ago in Chalon-sur-Saône, where he took second place. The Repsol Honda rider will battle for his first victory in the indoor discipline and to close the gap at the top.

The action will begin on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Palais Nikaia.

Toni Bou

Championship: 1st

“Last week the team did a great job, so we will try to continue in the same way. Nice is a race that has been good for us before, and we have achieved three victories there -so we are very motivated. It is a city where the fans get very involved and we are really motivated. We have had a great start to the season, with maximum points, and we will continue working in the same way. The feeling with the team and the bike is very good, so the objective will be, as always, to fight for the win.”

Gabriel Marcelli

Championship: 2nd

“The objective for this weekend will be to fight to win and consolidate second position in the championship. Right now I am tied on points with Jaime, so we will attempt to close the gap and also get closer to Toni. With two races in a row it is important to maintain the same working methods, but we only have a few days of recovery to reach the highest level in Nice. It will be the first time I compete there, so I hope to get the best possible result and put on a good show.”

Takahisa Fujinami

Team Manager

“With races so close together it is important to maintain the motivation for the entire team and continue in the same way. Last week we achieved a great result with Toni's victory and Gabri's second position, so, as in every race, the aim will be to get the best possible results. All the riders are very strong this season and the key in each race is to not accrue too many penalty points in the first and second laps, in order to reach the final.”
