Toni Bou is the leader of the series, while Gabriel Marcelli is in fourth place.
The X-Trial World Championship celebrates the third round of the 2025 season this Friday, January 17th, in Clermont-Ferrand, which will host a World Championship event for the first time. Repsol Honda HRC riders Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli will thus face a new challenge.
Bou is currently the series leader, tied on 35 points with Jaime Busto after he won the round a week ago in Chambéry. The Repsol Honda rider will seek to open up a gap in the standings for the first time. The Montesa Cota 4RT man has been preparing to regain his good feeling with his bike for the visit to the French town on Friday.
Marcelli also arrives in very good form, and occupies fourth place with 18 points, just three behind third-placed Adam Raga. The young Spaniard continues to show progress in each round and wants to fight for his first victory, as well as to get closer to the top positions in the table.
The action at the Zénith d’Auvergne will start at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Toni Bou
“We are very excited after the great result last weekend in Chambéry, where I felt very comfortable with the bike, especially in the final. During the Christmas break, the team did a great job, and the goal is to continue in the same vein. As always, the rivals are very strong and it won't be an easy season, so it's important to be consistent, not make mistakes and keep getting good results.”
Gabriel Marcelli
“With so little rest between races we won't be able to train hard, but I'm coming into this one with very good feelings. I'm starting from a better position and I think all this will help me get a good result again this weekend. My mentality remains the same in every race. I think we lacked luck at the start of the season, but I have the talent to be on the podium and fight for the win. I hope it will be a race with a high level of difficulty, so that I can make the difference. This also gives us room to correct mistakes, and we'll put on a good show for the French fans.”
Takahisa Fujinami
“This weekend we have the third race of the season, with very little rest after Chambéry. The whole team are very prepared and eager after the good results of the previous round. Toni had an incredible final last time and has been working hard, so the goal will be to get the win and increase the gap in the championship with respect to Jaime. As for Gabri, he took a step forward in Chambéry after the poor result in the opening round. This Friday his goal will be to return to the podium and take another step towards fighting for his first victory in the X-Trial World Championship.”
