Toni Bou is second in the overall standings, while Gabriel Marcelli is fifth.

The X-Trial World Championship holds its second round of the season in Chambéry, France, this weekend. The Repsol Honda HRC riders will be looking to improve on the results achieved in the opening round, held a couple of weeks ago in Madrid. Toni Bou, currently second in the overall standings, will target a return to winning ways. Gabriel Marcelli will be fighting to qualify for the final after not doing so last time out.

Reigning world champion Bou had led the first lap and the Superpole in Madrid, but a misunderstanding regarding the new regulations denied him the chance to fight for victory in the final. In Chambéry, Bou aims to win and take the top spot in the overall standings, where he is currently second with 15 points.

Marcelli missed out on the final in the opening round of the 2025 season, finishing in fifth position. This weekend, he wants to return to the Top 3 and better adapt to the new format for the competition.

The race in Chambéry will start at 6:30pm local time on Saturday.

Toni Bou

Championship: 2nd

“We arrive at the second round with a lot of motivation and eager to achieve a good result. Although we did not start the season in the best way, a second position is always positive for the title race. We have been working hard to try to get the best possible result this Saturday. The new format does not affect the way we approach the competition; as always, our strategy is to have a good first round and qualify for the final. The main objective is to get rid of the bad taste we had from the Madrid race after the confusion with the briefing, and to perform at our best.”

Gabriel Marcelli

Championship: 5th

“I would have liked the break to be longer so I could better prepare for Saturday's race, but it's true that, as it's short, you don't lose your fitness, and I'm ready for this second round. We have to adjust the strategy a little, since in Madrid the new format didn't help me too much and we missed out on the final by very little. For this race, I know I have to turn the situation around. The objective is to get back on the podium and handle the whole competition better, adapting to the new regulations to be able to fight for victory.”

Takahisa Fujinami

Team Manager

“This weekend, both Toni and Gabri have a new opportunity to demonstrate the great level they have this year. We didn't get off to the best start in Madrid, with the mistake in the briefing during the final that left Toni out of contention, and with Gabri finishing fifth. It's true that, looking ahead, second place is positive, so the goal for Toni this weekend is to get back to winning ways. As for Gabri, the new format didn't quite work out for him, but we've worked hard to turn things around so that he can get back on the podium in France. In short, the team are ready for this new challenge.”
