Toni Bou arrives as leader after four consecutive victories in the outdoor discipline. Gabriel Marcelli occupies second place in the standings.

TrialGP World Championship competition continues this weekend in Valsassina. Repsol Honda Team riders Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli arrive at the Italian town highly motivated after the great results achieved so far in 2024. It will be the first time that the outdoor series has visited the Italian town, promising an exciting weekend.

With 80 points to his name, Bou arrives as leader of the overall standings after two rounds. The Repsol Honda Team rider has a perfect record since the 2024 season began, both in X-Trial and TrialGP, and is on a run of four consecutive wins in the outdoor series.

Marcelli has not been off the podium so far this season. He achieved a second and third position last weekend in Sant Júlia de Lòria (Andorra) and was also second and third at the opening event in Motegi (Japan). He is currently second overall with 64 points, holding a 9-point lead over rival Adam Raga. The objective in Valsassina Italy will be to fight for victory and once again finish in the Top 3.

On Friday, technical and administrative verifications will be carried out, in addition to a visit of the zones and training. On both Saturday and Sunday, the action will begin at 9am.

Toni Bou

Championship: 1st

"Races in Italy are usually spectacular with a lot of fans. We haven't raced in Valsassina yet, but we have in the neighbouring city, so the terrain will be similar, with artificial and river zones. I think it could be a good race despite the little information we have. We will try to continue with our dynamic, although it is very tricky. The main objective is to fight for the title and go for the podium and the victory. We will only have one day to train, but the important thing is to stay physically fit and maintain a good feeling with the bike, to be able to arrive as well prepared as possible."

Gabriel Marcelli

Championship: 2nd

"I face the weekend very motivated and with great enthusiasm, since we have started the season with very good races and very good results. We have been very consistent and we have not been off the podium. I haven't competed at Valsassina, and it is a terrain that I am not familiar with, but I have achieved good results in Italy in the past, so we will try to replicate them. The objective remains the same: The podium, fight for victory and continue with this consistency. Since the races are so close together, we have had some complications, such as the team having had less time to work on the bike and fewer days of rest and training, but we are prepared and ready to fight."

Takahisa Fujinami

Team Manager

"We arrive in Valsassina with the same objectives as in Andorra. Toni and Gabri have started the season very well, and our objective is to continue in the same way. It will be the first time that we compete in Valsassina and we know that there are rivers nearby, so it will be a totally different terrain than the two races we have had so far in Japan and Andorra. Both riders arrive in top form; although Gabri had some knee discomfort last weekend, that is practically resolved. We hope that our two riders get the best possible position and fight for victory."
