Toni Bou leads the overall standings, while Gabriel Marcelli looks to close the gap in the series.

After a year away, the TrialGP World Championship returns to San Marino for the fifth round of the 2025 season. The campaign enters its second half on terrain that is familiar to the majority of the riders. Toni Bou leads the overall standings with 322 points, while Gabriel Marcelli is third with 230.

Bou arrives at the event in brilliant form. The Repsol Honda rider is on a streak of six consecutive victories since the round held in Portugal, which has allowed him to build a solid lead in the series. With a 55-point advantage over Jaime Busto, his closest rival, the Montesa Cota 4RT rider aims to extend this in San Marino with a repeat of his double victory there from 2023.

Marcelli will be looking to rediscover his best form after an inconsistent weekend in Calvi last time out, where he finished third on Saturday and fourth on Sunday. He has shown great pace in recent races, leading the way at times in both Japan and Corsica, and his goal this weekend will be to finish things off with a win. He currently sits third in the overall standings, 37 points behind Busto.

Work at the course will begin on Friday with technical and administrative scrutineering, in addition to the traditional site visits and practice session. The competition proper will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Toni Bou

Championship: 1st

“We're arriving in San Marino in good form and very motivated. We've managed to maintain a very high level since Portugal, and the goal is to continue in the same way. The terrain in Calvi was demanding, but we were able to adapt well, which will also be key this weekend. We did very well in San Marino two years ago, and I'm looking forward to returning. As always, we'll take things race by race, focusing on making no mistakes and continuing to score important points.”

Gabriel Marcelli

Championship: 3rd

“San Marino is a good opportunity to regain some momentum and close the gap in the overall standings. I had some positive moments in Calvi, but also made some mistakes that prevented me from reaching a higher position. We know what we need to improve, and we've been working on it. I feel good physically and am confident on the bike. If we can be more consistent in both races, we can be in the fight for the podium positions.”

Takahisa Fujinami

Team Manager

“We're entering the fifth round of the season in a very solid position, with Toni leading the overall standings. His winning streak demonstrates the great work the entire team are doing, and the goal is to keep this level up. As for Gabri, we know his potential. He didn't achieve his goal in Calvi and seemed to lack confidence, but we know he's capable enough to fight for victory. The goal for him this weekend will be to regain a good feeling. We're already halfway through the season, so we know it's important to stay fully focused and continue scoring points.”
