The X-Trial World Championship moves into its second half this Saturday with the fourth date of the season held in Granada, Spain. Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou returns to the city of the Alhambra, a location which has left the champion with fond memories after fine previous performances there.

The X-Trial World Championship will not be pausing for breath after last week’s trial in Bilbao, where Toni Bou rode to a great victory. This Saturday sees the fourth round of the championship stop off in another Spanish city, namely Granada. The Palacio Municipal de Deportes in Granada will host the nine riders set to take part in the trial, with Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou centre stage. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider, having triumphed in two of the three events this year, currently leads the overall standings with a five-point advantage over his nearest rival in the table Adam Raga.

The Andalucian city will once again welcome the champion who has always performed well in Granada. Of the three previous appearances, Toni Bou has clinched the victory twice, both times aboard the Montesa Cota 4RT.

The Palacio Municipal de Deportes of Granada, which has not hosted another X-Trial event since that legendary trial of Toni Bou back in 2008, will open its doors on Saturday, February 23rd at 19:00. The presentation of the riders will get the event underway at 20:00 hrs, followed by the first round. The second phase is scheduled to begin at 21:45 with the best six from the previous phase passing through. Only the top two from each group will qualify for the final. The two second-placed finishers will shoot it out for the remaining podium place. The event is scheduled to finish around 23:00 hrs.

CHAMPIONSHIP: 1st POINTS: 55

I really want to go back to Granada, where I still have some great memories. The championship is short - there are few trials, and above all, you can not include your worst result, so it is better to get the best possible results. Bilbao went really well and I hope that here in Granada I can be back on the highest step of the podium. We almost do not have time to get the physique back in shape, which this year has taken a lot of punishment, but I’m confident that an aggressive approach could bring a good result.
